Lynne Picker, DirectorOur director, Mrs. Lynne Picker holds a B.S. degree in music from Crown College and an M.A. degree in music with a focus on ethnomusicology from Northern Illinois University. She is a liscensed Musikgarten teacher, and has recieved Orff certification from DePaul University in Chicago. Mrs. Picker previously owned and operated her own private music studio in Wheaton, Illinois. She has 28 years of teaching experience in both private piano and voice instruction as well as classroom teaching experience. Previously, Mrs. Picker was the music director at Kunming International Academy. Having lived and worked in Asia since 1990, Mrs. Picker brings to YaGe Community Arts Center, not only a high level of musical excellence but also a genuine love for music and a unique talent for teaching students of all ages and interests. With a passion for high quality music education, Mrs. Picker strives to provide her students the building blocks needed for a life long study of music. ![]() Chuck Eddy - Guitar Chuck, an American, was educated in music through a number of outstanding guitar teachers as well as at Berklee College of Music in Boston. As a guitarist, Chuck has been teaching, performing and doing professional recordings with guitar for over 20 years. Having played in professional rock bands since his late teens, Chuck studied music theory at Minneapolis Community College and Berklee College of Music before becoming a guitar instructor at Schmitt Music in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since coming to Kunming, Chuck has given private guitar lessons at his home and has performed with local and expat musicians at local restaurants and coffeeshops, (most notably, Nordica, Moonlight Corner, Silver Spoon and Samoana) as well as a number of large outdoor venues. He is currently playing with the group “The Kunming Social Club” which performs traditional jazz standards. Chuck’s interest in music has led him into the genres of blues, rock, metal, classical and jazz guitar. He continues to study jazz theory and jazz guitar. |
