Piano, Voice Private Lessons

Our private lessons at YaGe Community Arts Center have been designed with the student's needs in mind.  Not only do our students learn to perform, they are provided a well rounded educational experience that teaches them the "why" behind what they learn.  Mrs. Picker began piano and voice instruction in 1982 and has been actively involved in the Illinois Music Teacher's Association.  She served for several years as an adjudicator for their statewide Music Syllabus Exam.  She has combined their curriciulum with the British based ABRSM (Associate Board of the Royal Schools of Music) examination system and  has developed a well rounded music curriculum that ensures that our students are progressing toward healthy musical goals.

ABRSM has a long history of 120 years.  It is recognized by more than 90 countries around the world and each year 600,000 students participate in their exams.  We provide our students the opportunity to participate in ABRSM yearly exams as the closest examination center is Guangzhou.  These exams provide tangible evidence that our students are progressing toward set goals.
